Optima’s platform runs on the information locked inside bills: thousands of energy, utility and council invoices, every issuer with its own layout, arriving as PDFs that someone has to read and re-key by hand before any of it can be used.
That was slow, easy to get wrong, and every new bill format meant more manual work. The backlog of documents set the pace for the whole platform.
What we built
We built Optima a system that reads those bills for them. An AI assistant does the reading and the tedious data entry; a person simply checks the result and confirms it before anything is saved.
Bringing on a new bill format used to be a project in itself. Now it is a quick set-up, so the team can keep pace with whatever their customers send in.
