1. Introduction
Ethics of AI Pty. Ltd. (ABN 89 699 961 790) (“we”, “us”, “our”) is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and disclose your personal information when you use our certification platform at ethicsofai.io.
We comply with the Australian Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs). By using our platform, you consent to the practices described in this policy.
2. Information We Collect
We collect the following categories of personal information:
- Account information: your name and email address, collected when you create an account.
- Organisation details: industry sector and organisation size, collected during onboarding for organisations.
- Payment information: card details are processed directly by Stripe and are never stored on our servers. We retain only a Stripe customer reference identifier linked to your account.
- Contact form submissions: your name, email address, company name, and message, submitted through our contact form.
- Usage data: page views, traffic source, browser type, and device information, collected through analytics.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use your personal information to:
- Provide and maintain our certification services
- Process payments for certification purchases
- Respond to your enquiries submitted through the contact form
- Analyse platform usage to improve the service
- Comply with legal obligations, including tax and regulatory requirements
4. Third-Party Services
We use the following third-party services to operate the platform. Each service processes personal information in accordance with its own privacy policy:
Clerk
Handles authentication, user accounts, and organisation metadata. Your name, email address, and organisation details are stored by Clerk. See the Clerk Privacy Policy.
Stripe
Processes all payment transactions. Your card details are handled entirely by Stripe — we do not receive or store card numbers, expiry dates, or CVCs. We store only a Stripe customer reference identifier in our account system to link your purchases to your account. See the Stripe Privacy Policy.
Google Analytics 4
Collects anonymous usage data including page views, traffic sources, and device information. Google Analytics uses cookies to distinguish users. See the Google Privacy Policy.
Formspree
Processes submissions from our contact form. Your name, email, company, and message are transmitted to Formspree when you submit the contact form. See the Formspree Privacy Policy.
6. Data Retention
- Account data: retained while your account is active. Deleted upon request (see Your Rights below).
- Payment records: retained as required by Australian tax and legal obligations.
- Analytics data: retained in accordance with Google Analytics data retention settings.
- Contact form data: retained in accordance with Formspree's retention policy.
7. Your Rights
Under the Australian Privacy Principles, you have the right to:
- Access the personal information we hold about you
- Request correction of inaccurate or outdated information
- Request deletion of your personal data
- Lodge a complaint with the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) if you believe your privacy has been breached

8. Data Security
We take reasonable steps to protect your personal information from misuse, loss, and unauthorised access. All data is transmitted over HTTPS with TLS encryption. Third-party service providers (Clerk, Stripe) maintain their own security standards and certifications. No card numbers or payment credentials are stored on our servers.
9. Children's Privacy
Our platform is not directed at individuals under the age of 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will take steps to delete it.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via email to registered users. Continued use of the platform after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy. The effective date at the top of this page indicates the most recent revision.
