# Living Pavilion Environment study **01** by **GPT-6 Astra**, with furnished activity areas and browser object interactions. This is the sole current GPT-6 Astra artifact. The exact model name is supplied by this task's developer context (`GPT-6 Astra`). Reasoning effort is **High**, explicitly confirmed by the user after creation and recorded as `high` in the artifact manifest. The provider is **OpenAI**, confirmed by the user on 25 September 2026 and recorded as `provider` in the artifact manifest. This is a worked authoring example, not a scored benchmark result. ## What was created - 389 procedural mesh objects across 17 named object families; 18,818 source polygons (before export triangulation), using seed 27. - A reading console with books and an opening journal, tea table with vessels and fillable cups, basin with adjustable water, rotatable bronze sculpture, four switchable lanterns, five planted pots, cushions, cedar battens, gravel, and nine trees in the surrounding landscape. - A browser scene with direct object picking, five equivalent keyboard-accessible buttons, close-up views, courtyard/garden views, reversible states, and reset. All camera changes are immediate and visitor initiated. Rendering happens on changes, not in a perpetual animation loop. Device pixel ratio is capped at 1.5. - Matching furnished GLB and USDZ geometry plus two Blender preview renders. The native USDZ and rendered stills show the authored static state (lit lanterns and low water); the interactive browser starts with lanterns off and cups empty. - A reusable [eval prompt and rubric](eval-prompt.md), [named object inventory](object-inventory.json), and [generation report](asset-report.json). ## Resource and compatibility choices Three.js 0.180.0, GLTFLoader and OrbitControls are bundled locally with esbuild 0.25.10; the Three.js MIT license is included. The generator adapts this site's original Quiet Pavilion generator; new furnishings and vegetation are procedural. No stock assets, remote runtime services, image generator, or credentials are used. The browser bundle is about 581 KiB, GLB 1.47 MiB, and native USDZ 394 KiB. `scene-data.js` embeds the GLB (about 1.96 MiB) so the script-only, opaque-origin gallery sandbox and file-backed pages can load it without fetch/CORS or import maps. The standalone GLB is also included for reuse, but is not fetched by the page. This deliberately trades base64 size for compatibility. All files in this directory are public authoring resources. Browser interaction uses WebGL. If creation or loading fails, the still remains visible and object buttons stay disabled. Without JavaScript, the image, scene information, and rendered overview link remain usable. Interactions are local and reset on reload; there is no persistence or autoplay audio/motion. The expandable native environment reuses the site's helpers. Native model entry is explicit, capability detected, and targets the Safari 27 / visionOS 27 API generation documented in the authoring guide. Assets are Y-up in metres with floor at zero and a clear 5.6 m central circle. Inline native viewing offsets the model by eye height; immersion restores identity placement. **Native immersion is static.** The browser's light, journal, tea, basin and sculpture states do not transfer into USDZ. No WebXR renderer is claimed. Native lighting can differ from both Blender and WebGL. ## Reproduce From the repository root: ```sh /Applications/Blender.app/Contents/MacOS/Blender --background --python artifacts/gpt-6-astra/living-pavilion/generate.py usdchecker artifacts/gpt-6-astra/living-pavilion/scene.usdz ``` To rebuild the local browser bundle, run `sh bundle.sh` from this directory. It installs pinned build dependencies in a temporary directory and removes them on exit. Then run `npm run check` from the repository root. Asset authoring used Blender 5.1.2 and Apple's `usdzip`, `usdcrush`, and `usdchecker`. The generator renders both previews, exports both 3D formats, creates the embedded data script and geometry report, and prints asset hashes. ## Verification — 6 September 2026 After retiring the older artifact and numbering this study 01, `npm run check` passes 13 unit tests and 31 browser tests. Gallery checks verify this is the sole GPT-6 Astra entry, and native API simulations now target this artifact. Original creation validation passed 13 unit tests and 35 browser tests, using Chromium 153.0.8010.12. A separate JavaScript-disabled browser check confirmed the still preview remains visible. The existing homepage screenshot test now waits two animation frames for large-text reflow before capture; its layout assertions remain intact. USDZ passes Apple's `usdchecker`. Blender interior preview and browser interaction screenshots were visually inspected. Automated browser tests exercise real WebGL loading, visible render changes for all five actions, Enter/Space activation, direct sculpture picking, repeat toggles/reset, overview, 390/1280 px layouts with 200% text and reduced motion, local-only sandbox loading, and WebGL failure. The original native helper tests use simulated APIs and remain separate from actual spatial rendering evidence. **Device checks:** no Safari version, visionOS version or Vision Pro hardware was tested. Native rendering, immersion, comfort and headset performance remain unverified. Open the standalone artifact over trusted HTTPS for device checks; record versions, scale/origin, model loading, entry, exit, system dismissal, retry after decline, and frame performance separately.
